Comfort and Strength in Illness

The Sacrament of the Sick, sometimes called the Anointing of the Sick, brings comfort, strength, and healing to those who are ill, elderly, or approaching death. Through the anointing with blessed oil and the prayers of the Church, the person receives the peace and grace of Christ.

This sacrament brings comfort, strength, and healing to those who are ill or elderly. It assures them of God’s presence and the prayers of the whole parish community.

Pastoral Visits and Support

In Acton Parish, our priests are happy to visit those who are sick at home, in nursing homes, or in hospital. Regular visits are also arranged for parishioners who are housebound, allowing them to receive Holy Communion and remain connected to the faith community.

God’s Presence in Suffering

This sacrament reminds us that suffering and weakness never separate us from God’s love. Instead, they unite us more closely to Christ, who Himself knew pain and offered His life for our salvation.
